RSS 70 - Sausage String Cutting System
About the product
The RSS 70 is a high-performance REX system for automatically separating sausage strings into individual products. A three-blade sickle-shaped knife makes a precise cut directly at the casing twist, while a servo drive ensures a throughput of up to 1,500 cuts per minute. The RSS 70 can operate independently or as part of an automated line with the RKS 85 sizing system and REX vacuum fillers.

Precise sausage cutting
The RSS 70 uses a rotating knife with three sickle-shaped blades, which detects the twist point of the casing and separates the sausage at that point.
The REX servo drive ensures high speed and precision. The system is suitable for natural, collagen, and artificial casings.
It can separate not only individual sausages, but also groups of 2 to 50 products, as well as cut to a specified length.
Productivity
The maximum productivity of the RSS 70 is up to 1,500 cuts per minute and depends on the product length and the type of casing used.
The current REX line for the standalone RSS 70 specifies a product length range of 25-800 mm and a caliber of 11-40 mm. For the RVF + RKS 85 + RSS 70 configuration, the manufacturer specifies a length of 40-800 mm and a caliber of 14-40 mm.
Infeed and Outfeed Conveyors
The infeed and outfeed conveyors guide the product through the cutting zone. Their position is adjusted depending on the sausage diameter, allowing the system to operate reliably even with products with slight deviations in shape.
An optional automatic electronic changeover for variable diameters is available, which reduces changeover time between different product types.
Touchscreen Control
The RSS 70 is equipped with a widescreen touchscreen. It allows the operator to set product parameters and monitor equipment operation.
When operating in a line, the RSS 70's electronic control is synchronized with the REX vacuum filler control system. Settings can be made either directly on the RSS 70 or via the syringe control unit.
Hygienic design
The housing is made of stainless steel with smooth surfaces designed for quick sanitization.
A protective screen for the control panel is standard, protecting the electronic components during washing and cleaning of the machine.
In-line operation with the RKS 85
The RSS 70 can be combined with the RKS 85 calibration system, forming an automated line downstream of the vacuum twisting unit. Filler.
The RKS 85 pre-calibrates the product by diameter and helps produce sausages of uniform length and weight. The sausages are then transferred directly to the RSS 70 for portioning.
The manufacturer specifies compatibility of the RKS 85 with vacuum fillers of the RVF 400 S, RVF 700, and RVF 911 series. For the RSS 70 combination itself, the catalog specifies a connection with the RKS 85 and RVF 400, 700, and 900 series syringes.
This configuration allows you to:
- automate the process from twisting to separating finished portions;
- achieve a consistent diameter and length of products;
- reduce changeover time;
- reduce the number of defects due to casing damage;
- centralize the management of the entire line.
Productivity depends on the length of the sausage and the type of casing used.
Automatic Diameter Adjustment
Automatically adjusts the inlet and outlet conveyors when changing to a product of a different diameter.
Inlet Conveyor Pressure Device
Stabilizes the product as it enters the cutting zone.
RKS 85 Connection Kit
Allows you to integrate the RSS 70 with the sausage calibration system into a single automated line.
Non-Standard Voltage Version
Designed for businesses with electrical network parameters that differ from the standard equipment version.
